Create Content, not Ads

Journal #1 : Describe the key takeaway for you today.
How can learning to write better help you in the modern-day workplace? Provide at least two examples.
Utility x Inspiration x Empathy = Quality Content
In this day and age, an average person experiences information overload. We consume content involuntarily in all forms. My number 1 pet-peeve with regards to that is forced ads. I will be reading what may seem like a reflective post on Instagram, only for them to end with a mention of a product or service. I came here to be authentic. Yes, we may want to craft a picture or post a certain way, but at the end of the day, I crave to connect. Did I learn something new about you or gained an insight? If not, I am not interested. That is why the equation above stood out to me. There is no empathy in "forced" content. At least not in my opinion. You are just regurgitating a bunch of branding jargons. "Empathy" is the one thing that is tricky to emulate in content. That is the one thing I want to strive to express in creating content.
During the work-from-home phase, I was put to the test in explaining how certain things work. I was no longer just helping people service their laptops cater to their IT needs. Now, I was responsible for either educating them or explaining why I am unable to do what they require. This is tricky because I have to explain technology in layman term while emphatizing with their needs. We are 2 parties trying to get our respective jobs done. A quick "I can't do that for you" will be insensitive and make me seem like I am just being lazy. Aside from the "HR" side of things, if I do a good job communicating, I do end up educating the user, and that makes my job easier next time as well.
